After creating or updating the grant tables, you need to restart the server manually. Optional you can edit the /etc/mysql/my.cnf Configuration-File (if you know what You're doing :-) To start mysql at boot-time simply put /etc/init.d/mysql.server start in your bootlocal.sh If You want to do serious things with the mysql-server it would be no bad idea to put /etc/init.d/mysql.server stop in your powerdown.sh _ This was built using the mysql-5.0.45 binary package.
