The file plod.shar contains the whole kit, but the files are also broken out individually (plod, plod.man, and README are new). To save bandwidth, I'm not posting the sharfile here, but email me if you don't have FTP access and I'll mail it to you. New features in this release are: -- A -f command line option to specify an alternate startup file (useful if you'd like to keep multiple, separate sets of logs). -- Encryption and decryption have been modularized. Users may define their own routines in the .plodrc file to use alternate (more secure) encryption schemes. See the manual page for more details. Various minor bugfixes and code cleanups have been done as well. For those of you who don't know what PLOD is (shame on you): PLOD is a tool designed to help administrators (and others) keep track of their daily activities. Since your management will typically have no idea what you are doing to justify such an exorbitant salary (any amount of money they may be paying you being classified as "exorbitant"), and since most people forget what they do themselves, it's good to keep a record. Trot your logs out around performance review time, and show them to your management (after suitable sanitization) on a regular basis. Enjoy, all you PLOD enthusiasts! -- ============================================================================== Hal Pomeranz pomeranz@aqm.com pomeranz@cs.swarthmore.edu System/Network Manager "All I can say is that my life is pretty plain.
